Blue Beautifully Shaped Melted Wine Bottle in Mixed Media Painting

Portrait of Joy

This is a portrait of my second oldest daughter Joy. I think I captured the expression I was hoping for.

Grey Goose Melted Bottles and Landscape Mixed Media

These large and mini Grey Goose bottles were melted and attached to the canvas. I carried the landscape theme from the bottles and painted it on the canvas.

This mixed media painting was donated to an organization who does charity for children. It will be in a silent auction. I hope it does well. The bottle was melted in the kiln and the grapes are glass. I love placing the bottle in with the grapevine and leaves painted with acrylics.

Every once in a while I make a mistake and through imagination it becomes an unplanned spectacular piece of art. The other day I had my kiln full of glass projects. I had a platter on the bottom shelf which should not have been in the kiln as long as the other pieces. Also, because it was on the bottom shelf I did not see that I was ruining it the longer I kept it in the kiln. Once removed there was a hole in the middle and next to that another hole but a thin layer of clear glass over the smaller hole. Immediately I saw a fish. So I applied my vision to canvas using fabric paint.
